The Japanese yen declined against the Australian and NZ dollars in early Asian deals on Friday after the Japanese government cut its assessment of the economy in September.
The yen that closed Thursday's deals at 81.75 against the aussie fell to near a 3-week low of 82.00. If the yen slides further, it may target 82.5 level.
Against the NZ dollar, the yen hit more than a 3-week low of 64.73 with 65.5 seen as the next downside target level. At Thursday's close, the pair was worth 64.42.
