Wi-LAN Inc. (WIN.TO), a technology innovation and licensing company, on Monday said it entered into a multi-year exclusive license agreement with Sensio Technologies Inc. (SIO), a 3D video services provider, enabling Wilan to exclusively license certain 3D Sensio patents pertaining to Sensio's S2D switch technology.
Wilan, which will pay Sensio an initial payment, said that subject to certain terms in the agreement, revenues from the licensing will be shared between the two companies. Further, the deal also entitles Wilan full rights to license other Sensio patents within a specific field of use, said Wilan in a statement.
Jim Skippen, President & CEO of Wilan said, "SENSIO''s leadership in developing 3D technologies has resulted in some breakthrough patented innovations which, when combined with WiLAN''s licensing expertise, should provide a promising addition to our current digital TV and display licensing efforts."
Friday, the stock closed at $5.33 on the TSX.
