Russia's industrial production increased at a slower pace in August, data released by the Federal State Statistics Service showed Monday.
Industrial production increased 2.1 percent on an annual basis in August, slower than the 3.4 percent growth seen in July. In June, production advanced 1.9 percent year-on-year.
Mining and quarrying production rose 0.8 percent annually, while manufacturing production advanced 4.1 percent. Output of electricity, gas and water was higher by 0.2 percent compared to last year.
On a monthly basis, industrial production decreased a seasonally adjusted 0.7 percent in August, reversing the previous month's 0.8 percent gain.
In the January-August period, output grew 3.1 percent from the corresponding period a year earlier, data showed.
