It's officially been announced that Nicki Minaj will be a judge for the upcoming U.S. season Of American Idol. The pop star will also be joined by Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban.
The announcement that Minaj was joining the 12th season of Idol came on Sunday, September 16.
"American Idol's star power has never been so great," executive producer Simon Fuller said.
Fox executive Mike Darnell also said that the network was "thrilled" about the panel: "Nicki's an unbelievably captivating international phenomenon who has made an indelible mark on rap and pop . . . [And] I know that our fans and contestants will fall in love with [Keith]."
The all new season of Idol is set to air in 2013.
