Newcastle Investment Corp. (NCT: Quote) Wednesday said its Board of Directors has declared a third-quarter quarterly dividend of $0.22 per share, up 10 percent from the prior-year quarter's dividend of $0.20 per share.

The dividend is payable October 31, to shareholders on record October 1.

Comprehensive immigration reform legislation took a step toward approval on Tuesday, as the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to send the bill to the Senate floor. The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 13 to 5 in favor of the bill, with three Republicans joining with the panel's ten Democrats in voting to support the legislation.
