Martina McBride says she is not pleased with her record label's decision to release a hits compilation, The Essential Martina McBride.
The 40-song comp is comprised of hits she recorded during her lengthy career at RCA Records; in 2010, she signed with Republic Nashville. Through Twitter McBride complains that she was not informed of the decision until it hit the press:
"Wow! Kinda sucks that I had 2 find out on Twitter that Rca is releasing a Cd of 40 of my songs. Hope I at least get a free copy . . . Having said that I'm not mad about it. Just would have been cool to get a phone call. I wonder what the cover looks like?"
The Essential Martina McBride is due on October 22. Meanwhile, McBride resumes her U.S. tour on September 28 with a show at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.
