Carlos Santana recently sat down with the Guardian for an interview during which he gave some unexpected answers to the interviewer's questions. Among them, he claimed that he does not care about rankings of guitar players.
"No one's better than me," he said. "I'm not better than anyone. Whether it's Eric Clapton or B.B. King we look straight at each other. And that keeps it real."
He added that his daughter "blew [him] off the stage" in a Guitar Hero match.
He also had some odd advice on how to keep a positive mental outlook.
"You know, I've been programming - which is the right word - my brain to convince the molecules in my body that it's my choice to make every day the best day of my life," he said.
Santana has a memoir in the works set for publication in 2014.
