Earnings of Icelandic employees increased at a steady pace in August, data released by Statistics Iceland showed Friday.
The wage index increased 5.9 percent on an annual basis in August, broadly unchanged from the 6 percent growth seen in July. In June, there was a 6.9 percent gain in wages and salaries.
On a monthly basis, wages edged up 0.1 percent in August, as they did in the previous month, the agency said.
In the three months ended August, earnings rose 0.7 percent from the corresponding period a year earlier, data showed.
