Scarlett Johansson is making her return to Broadway, where, in 2010, the actress picked up a Tony award for her performance in Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge." Now, Johansson is set to star in Tennessee Williams' "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof."
Johansson plays Maggie, a strong-minded sexpot, who is the "cat" on the "hot tin roof," as it were. Johansson will be joined by Ciaran Hinds ("Big Daddy") and Debra Monk ("Big Mama").
In the play, Johansson, depressed and desperate, flaunts her body in order to draw her homosexual husband back into their marriage.
Preview performances begin in December at the Richard Rodgers Theatre; the play opens January 17, 2013.
