Canadian firm LED Medical Diagnostics Inc. (LMD.V, LEDIF.PK) on late Friday said it has amended its distribution agreement with Henry Schein, Inc. (HSIC). LED Medical's VELscope Vx product will now be available directly through LED.

LED's founder and CEO, Peter Whitehead, said, "While we are grateful for the valuable assistance and exposure provided by Henry Schein during an important period of the VELscope Vx's business development, we believe that our marketing and distribution efforts will be more profitably conducted through a variety of channels. Besides potentially increasing the return on sales to LED, taking greater control of our distribution will give us the opportunity to fine-tune our marketing and distribution plans as we capitalize on the success of our domestic and international sales campaigns."

LED Medical noted that Henry Schein will continue to support VELscope Vx by supplying existing customers with VELscope consumables, and by continuing to service the large group practice client base.

Going forward, LED Medical said it will continue to aggressively market the VELscope Vx, to increase and solidify its market share and dominance in the area of fluorescence-based detection of oral-disease.
