Alice Cooper honored Guillermo del Toro with the career contribution award to the horror genre at the Eyegore Awards during a ceremony at Universal Studios in Hollywood.
Following the ceremony, Cooper cut the ribbon on his Alice Cooper Goes to Hell 3D maze, part of Universal's Halloween Horror Nights haunted maze attraction. The maze was designed by Universal's John Murdy, the same hand behind Alice's 2011 Haunted Maze. Alice was the first to stroll through the maze, enjoying it so much he went through two more times.
Toro has directed such spooky films as "Mimic," "Hellboy," "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Blade II." His new series, "The Strain," was recently picked up by FOX.
Cooper called "Pan's Labyrinth," a "fantastic" film, prompting Toro to note, upon accepting the award, that the comment was "really flattering."
