An index measuring prices for corporate services was down 0.3 percent on year in August, standing at 95.6.

Among individual categories, prices were down for engineering and architectural services and advertising services; they were up for ocean freight transportation.

Upon the release of the data, the Japanese yen was mixed against major opponents, trading near 77.88 against the U.S. dollar, 100.80 versus the euro, 83.34 against the Swiss franc and 126.40 versus the pound.
