Brazil's Producer Price Inflation Rises In August

Output price inflation in the Brazilian manufacturing sector accelerated modestly in August, data released by statistical office IBGE showed Friday.

The producer price index for the manufacturing sector increased 7.53 percent on an annual basis in August, following the previous month's 7.14 percent gain.

Making the biggest contribution to the overall growth, food prices jumped 17.82 percent annually, while prices of transportation equipment advanced 17.28 percent.

On a monthly basis, output prices advanced 0.53 percent in August, after rising 0.5 percent in the previous month, data showed.
