MetroPCS, which also confirmed the talks, closed the day's regular trading session up 17.80%.
Xyratex Ltd (XRTX) shares slumped more than 14% in after hours trading after the UK-based data storage company reported a bigger-than-expected decline in third quarter profit and forecast a surprise loss for the fourth quarter.
