Sunoco Inc. (SUN) and Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) announced after the bell Thursday that Sunoco's shareholders approved the merger of Sunoco with a wholly owned subsidiary of ETP at Sunoco's special meeting of shareholders. Sunoco is now up 0.48 on 12 million shares and Energy Transfer Partners is up 0.61 on 231K shares.
Sunoco traded in a range for the majority of Thursday's session and closed down by 0.05 at $46.75. The stock finished at the lower end of a 2 1/2 week range.
