Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora has canceled a string of tour dates after losing his voice. The tour was scheduled in support of Richie's new solo release Aftermath of the Lowdown, and the canceled dates included October 18 in Philadelphia, 20 in Toronto and 23 in New York City.
Thus far there is word that the Toronto show will be rescheduled for sometime next year, but there is no word on the other dates.
The album is Richie's first in 14 years, and he spoke on the effort with Rolling Stone over the summer:
"I think people look at Richie Sambora and they put me in the Bon Jovi box, but that's not what this record is. I think they don't see me as a singer, and I was the lead singer in every band I was in before Bon Jovi. I hope I get to change people's minds on this record. That's what I'm gonna try to do."
