Gene Simmons claims he was asked to persuade Led Zeppelin to reunite for good following their 2007 reunion show in London. Speaking with Britain's The Sun, the KISS rocker says an unnamed promoter paid him $320 million to use his connections to rekindle the legendary rock outfit.
"In 2009/10, I was given a few hundred million dollars in an account by a large concert promoter and given the task of reaching out to Jimmy [Page] and Robert [Plant] and trying to convince them to get back together," Simmons explained in the interview.
Thus far Zep shows no signs of reuniting, however, as Robert Plant blasted one reporter who asked about a reunion during a recent presser:
"If we're capable of doing something, in our own time, that will be what will happen. So any inane questions from people who are from syndicated outlets, you should just really think about what it takes to answer a question like that in one second."
