Ancestry.com Inc. (ACOM) reported that its third-quarter net income was $24.9 million, or $0.54 per share, compared to $19.1 million, or $0.40 per share, in the third quarter of 2011.
Total revenue for the third quarter of 2012 was $128.4 million, an increase of 24% over $103.1 million in the third quarter of 2011.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.49 per share on revenues of $123.61 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Subscribers totaled approximately 2.02 million as of September 30, 2012, a 19% increase over the end of the third quarter of 2011. Average monthly revenue per subscriber in the third quarter of 2012 was $18.68, compared to $18.68 in the third quarter of 2011.
