Hindustan Unilever Ltd., or HUL, reported second-quarter net profit of Rs.806.92 crore, up from Rs.688.92 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011. Total income increased to Rs.6,459.56 crore form the Rs.5,691.23 crore in the corresponding quarter of the preceding year.
The company's board declared an interim dividend of Rs.4.50 per equity share of Re.1 each for the fiscal year 2013. In addition, the board also declared Special dividend of Rs.8.00 per equity share of Rs.1 each. The dividend will be paid on or after November 16.
The board further approved an additional investment in the equity shares of Hindustan Unilever Vitality Foundation, (HUVF), a Section 25 Company, to make HUVF a Subsidiary of the company.
At the BSE, Hindustan Unilever shares at the BSE are currently trading at Rs.554.25, down 1.69 percent from the previous close.
