Teleflex Inc. (TFX) reported net income attributable to common shareholders of $21.74 million or $0.52 per share for the third quarter, lower than last year's $43.65 million or $1.07 per share.

Income from continuing operations fell to $24.45 million or $0.58 per share from $32.92 million or $0.80 per share in the same quarter a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share from continuing operations were $1.04.

Net revenues for the three-month period advanced year-over-year to $368.05 million from $362.74 million.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.00 per share on revenues of $368.63 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Going ahead, the company now expects constant currency revenue growth to be between 6% and 7% for full year 2012. This compares to the company's prior expectation of constant currency revenue growth between 4% and 6%. Also, adjusted earnings per share is currently expected to be in the range of $4.35 to $4.40. This compares to Teleflex's prior expectation of $4.25 to $4.45 range.

Analysts expect the company to earn $4.36 per share on revenues of $1.54 billion for the year.
