Jack Henry & Associates (JKHY) reported first quarter EPS of $0.49 after the bell Wednesday, up from $0.42 in the prior year period. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.46. Revenue increased to $271.00 million from $248.34 million last year. The consensus estimate was for revenue of $264.80 million.

Jack Henry & Associates rose sharply in the first half hour of trade Thursday, but settled into a range for the remainder of the day. Shares finished up by 1.53 at $39.53 on the highest volume in 4 months. The stock broke out of a 1-month range and set a new high for the year.
