NBC has announced a one-hour live benefit telethon, Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together, featuring a performance by Christina Aguilera, airing tonight at 8 p.m. EST.
Also featured on the broadcast will be Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Jon Bon Jovi, Jimmy Fallon and Brian Williams. The event airs from the New York studios of NBC at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
The special will air not only on NBC but also on its sister networks - Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy and USA - as well. The telethon also will be live-streamed on NBC.com.
Funds raised at the event will be donated to the American Red Cross for its Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The donations help the Red Cross provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to those affected by disasters.
