Stratasys Inc. (SSYS) reported net income of $5.2 million or $0.24 per share for the third quarter compared to $5.9 million or $0.27 per share a year ago. Non-GAAP net income was $8.7 million or $0.40 per share for the quarter.
Quarterly revenues grew to $49.7 million from $40 million in the same quarter a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.32 per share on revenues of $46.40 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Going ahead, for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2012, the company now expects earnings to be in the range of $0.77 to $0.88 per share versus previous guidance of $0.83 to $0.98 per share. Non-GAAP earnings share is now expected to be between $1.37 and $1.40 compared to $1.31 to $1.38 per share expected earlier. Also, revenue for the year is currently anticipated to be in the range of $194 million to $199 million, versus previous guidance of $193 million to $198 million. Analysts expect the company to earn $1.31 per share on revenues of $188 million for the year.
