Associated Business Foods FY Net Profit Rises On Higher Revenues - Quick Facts

Associated Business Foods Plc (ABF.L) Tuesday released the financial results for the 52-week period ended 15 September 2012, reporting a rise in Profit for the period from continuing operations on higher Revenues.

The diversified international food, ingredients and retail group reported Profit for the 52-week period ended 15 September 2012 from continuing operations of 583 million pounds, slight higher than Profit of 577 million pounds reported for the previous year.

Diluted earnings per share for the year increased to 70.3 pence from 68.7 pence per share reported for the previous year.

Total Revenue from continuing operations for the year increased to 12.25 billion pounds from 11.06 billion pounds reported for the previous year.

George Weston, Chief Executive of Associated British Foods, said: "These are very good results for the group and include exceptional performances from AB Sugar and Primark.  Global economic uncertainty remains but we have opportunities for further investment and the strength of the group balance sheet and a strong cash flow will enable us to pursue them with confidence."
