Optos Full Year Pre-tax Profit Rises - Quick Facts

Optos Plc (OPTS.L), a medical retinal imaging company, Wednesday said full year profit before tax grew to $23.4 million from $22.0 million. Adjusted pre-tax profit advanced to $26.3 million from $22.7 million.

The company recorded a tax charge of $5.8 million in the year compared to a tax credit of $0.8 million in 2011.

Profit attributable to equityholders of the parent fell to $17.6 million from $22.8 million. Earnings per share dropped to 23.9 cents from 31.8 cents.

Revenue and other operating income climbed 37 percent to $196.4 million from $143.3 million. Revenue increased to $193.2 million from $143.3 million.

Roy Davis, CEO, said, ''Looking forward to the next financial year, our priority will be to execute on Daytona and continue our expansion into the ophthalmology market with the 200Tx device.''
