Kroger Co. (KR) reported third quarter adjusted EPS of $0.46 Thursday morning, which topped the consensus estimate of $0.43. The company also increased its full year adjusted EPS forecast to between $2.44 and $2.46, from previous guidance of $2.35 to $2.42. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $2.41.
Kroger gapped up sharply Thursday and rose further in the early portion of the afternoon. The stock closed higher by 1.19 at $26.25 on above average volume. Kroger broke out of a month and a half long range and set a new high for the year.
