Lamprell Appoints James Moffat As CEO

Lamprell plc (LAM.L), a provider of engineering and contracting services to oil and gas industries, said Monday that James Moffat has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer, effective March 31. Peter Whitbread, the interim CEO, is expected to continue in his role until then, and following the replacement, he is likely to sit on the Board of Lamprell.

The incoming CEO has over three and a half decades of experience in the field, and during his tenure with the KBR Group, he was the executive director responsible for the high profile Gorgon LNG Project in Australia.

After ending the previous session nearly flat, stocks moved mostly lower over the course of the trading day on Friday. Business inventories in the U.S increased in line with economist estimates in the month of July, according to a report released by the Commerce Department on Friday. The Commerce Department said business inventories rose by 0.4 percent in July, matching the increase reported for June as well as the consensus estimate.
