Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong is putting up his California house for sale. The house is on the market for $1.9 million, a modest mark up from the price Armstrong and his wife purchased it at in 2006 ($1.7 million).
According to property records, Billie Joe and his wife Adrienne re-built the property from "the studs up" shortly after purchasing it. The house is just a block from the ocean in Newport Beach, California.
Armstrong is currently in rehab after melting down on stage in Las Vegas earlier this year and admitting to substance abuse. Green Day had to cancel many of its tour dates since their frontman will be in rehab until 2013.
Fellow California punk rocker Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 said of the rehab stint: "I think that's great if it's what he needs, and I wish them all the best. They're an amazing band and really cool guys, and I hope that all is good in their world."
