Air France KLM November Traffic, Capacity Rise

Franco-Dutch airline Air France-KLM (AFRAF.PK,AFLYY.PK) Friday reported increases in passengers and load factor for the month of November, while capacity edged up from last year.

During the month, traffic rose 2.2 percent, as revenue pax-kilometers, or RPK, climbed to 17.22 billion from 16.85 billion in the prior year.

Capacity edged up 0.3 percent, with available seat-kilometers or ASK advancing to 21.21 billion from 21.14 billion.

Load factor rose 1.5 percentage points to 81.2 percent from 79.7 percent. The number of passengers grew 2.3 percent to 6.0 million.

On the European network, the application of the Winter season program led to a reduction in capacity, especially on the European network and in regional bases. Capacity rose just 0.3 percent and traffic was up 3.5 percent, while load factor improved 2.2 percentage points to 72.3 percent.

Capacity slid 1 percent on the Americas network whilst traffic rose 1 percent. Load factor advanced 1.7 percentage points to 85.9 percent.

Traffic as well as capacity grew 5.4 percent in the Asia network. Load factor improved slightly to 82.9 percent from 82.8 percent.

The Africa and Middle East network recorded a 2.1 percent growth in traffic, while capacity edged up 0.7 percent. Load factor gained 1.1 percentage points to 78.1 percent.

On the Caribbean and Indian Ocean network, capacity fell 6.7 percent and traffic dropped 3.2 percent, with a 3.1 percentage point rise in the load factor to 86.3 percent.

In the cargo business, the group continues to adjust its full freighter program. Capacity was reduced by 5.2 percent, while traffic declined 5.4 percent. Load factor slid 0.2 percentage points to 68.1 percent. Unit revenue per available tonne kilometer ex-currency was stable with last year.

The stock is up 0.7 percent at 7.20 euros in Paris on Thursday.
