Slovak Inflation Slows In November

Consumer price inflation in Slovakia weakened in November, after rising in the previous month, data released by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Wednesday.

Inflation eased to 3.4 percent in November from 3.8 percent in October. In September, the inflation rate was 3.6 percent.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices rose 5.6 percent annually, while clothing and footwear prices moved up 1.9 percent during the month. Housing costs and utility prices were higher by 2.9 percent compared to last year, and transportation costs by 2 percent.

On a monthly basis, the consumer price index remained unchanged in November, after rising 0.3 percent in the previous month, data showed.

At the same time, core consumer prices, adjusted for volatile items, increased 3.1 percent compared to November 2011, the agency said.
