Dropbox has acquired the once popular peer-to-peer music website AudioGalaxy. The site was hit hard with a lawsuit in 2002 but relaunched earlier this year as a music radio streaming site, similar to Pandora.
The firm broke news of their acquisition in an official statement earlier this week, but thus far had confirmed no details on the merger:
"Today, we are thrilled to announce our team is joining Dropbox! We are excited about the opportunity to join the amazing folks at Dropbox and bring great new experiences to 100M+ Dropbox users."
This may indicate that Dropbox will help rebrand AudioGalaxy as a cloud-based music streaming service. The company has since suspended accepting new members and says their current services will end in this month.
