Dave Grohl has shut down rumors that the remaining members of Nirvana may be planning a reunion tour. The rumors popped up after Grohl, bassist Krist Novoselic and guitarist Pat Smear appeared on stage together with former Beatle Paul McCartney at the recent 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy Benefit concert.

Rumors have since floated that the former Nirvana legends may hit the road for a reunion tour fronted by an unnamed mystery singer. Possible names attached to the rumor include devout Kurt Cobain fan Jared Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars, or even Courtney Love. Grohl was quick to shut down the chatter, however, telling the New York Post the rumor is "nonsense."

Novoselic has said that he'd love to get back in the game, however, telling the Daily Beast that he would "tour with David Lee Roth."

"I think he's great. And it wouldn't be some oldies review: if we put a band together and we were making music and we felt good about it - and there was that passion and that spark - I'd do it in a second," he said.
