Allscripts Healthcare Solutions (MDRX) announced after the close Wednesday that it has named Paul M. Black as its President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. He replaces Glen Tullman, who will step down from his positions as Chief Executive Officer and board member. Lee Shapiro also will step down as President, effective immediately.
The company also announced that its Board of Directors has formally concluded its evaluation of strategic alternatives.
Allscripts Healthcare Solutions gapped open sharply lower Thursday, but traded in a narrow range throughout the session. The stock finished down by 1.54 at $9.14 on the highest volume of the year and sank to a 4 1/2 month low.
