Jeff Ament, bass player for Pearl Jam, says the band will begin writing and recording for their upcoming album sometime in March 2013. The band's last album and ninth studio effort, Backspacer, hit in 2009.
"I'm probably not going to get busy with Pearl Jam until March or something," Ament said during an interview with ARTISTDirect.
"I'm up for whatever. There's a little bit of momentum within [RNDM, Ament's side project] right now so I think we want to keep it moving."
Pearl Jam celebrated their 20th anny in 2012, releasing the documentary Twenty with an accompanying three disc box set. In the fall, the band also launched its "Instant Classic" bootleg series, giving fans of the band access to hundreds of "official bootlegs" containing high-quality recordings of the band's concerts.
