Hot Topic Inc. (HOTT) reported a 2.2 percent increase in comparable-store sales for the November/December "Holiday" period. The company also reiterated its fourth quarter earnings guidance in the range of $0.23 to $0.27 per share. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $0.25.
Hot Topic gapped up and spiked higher in early trade Thursday, before settling into a range. The stock finished up by 1.08 at $10.80 with volume at a month and a half high. Hot Topic broke out past resistance and set a new high for the year.
