Nathan Followill, drummer for Kings of Leon, hit Twitter on Tuesday (January 7) to announce that the band had begun working on its latest album:

"Off 2 the gym to get my sweat on & then it's music making time. Today is the official start of record #6. I dreamt of drum parts last night."

Nathan's comments were preceded by those of brother/bass player Jared, who told BBC 6 Music late last year that the band has already been writing for the follow-up to 2010's Come Around Sundown:

"We are in the writing process right now and it's coming along pretty quickly. We'll definitely get into the studio by the end of this year but we have no plans of finishing it this year. But definitely early next year, so I think people should expect something from us sooner rather than later."
