Pub retailer Greene King Plc (GNK.L) said its retail like-for-like sales increased by 3.7% and food LFL sales were up 4.1% for the 36 weeks to January 6, 2013. Total sales in Greene King Retail, its largest and fastest growing business, climbed by 9.5% after 36 weeks.
After 36 weeks, average EBITDA per pub rose 4.2%. The company said its disposal programme is on track with 65 non-core sites sold in the financial year to date.
The company does not expect conditions for the UK consumer to improve in 2013.
