Genworth Financial Inc. (GNW) announced a comprehensive U.S. Mortgage Insurance capital plan Wednesday morning. Once implemented it will reduce Genworth Mortgage Insurance Company's risk-to-capital by 12 to 15 points.
Genworth Financial gapped up sharply Wednesday, but moved in a narrow range throughout the session. Shares closed up by 0.72 at $8.85 on strong volume. The stock rose above a 2-week range and set a 9 1/2 month high.
