Rod Stewart reveals much in his new memoir, Rod: the Autobiography, but perhaps nothing so strange as his habit of shoving cocaine up his butt, in order to lessen damage to his nasal cavity. R-Stew adds that he was not alone in the endeavor, as his band mate Ronnie Wood had the same habit.
"We started buying anticold capsules from the chemist's, separating the two halves of the capsules, replacing their contents with a pinch of cocaine, and then taking the capsules anally, where, of course, the human body being a wonderful thing, they would dissolve effortlessly into the system."
Rod adds that, despite the odd habit, he believes he was never addicted to the drug:
"As far as the drugs are concerned, I was never an addict. I was never, you know, in rehab. It never affected my family or my relationships or anything. I was just a social user."
