UK House Prices Rise In January: Rightmove

The average asking price for a home in the United Kingdom was up 0.2 percent in January compared to the previous month, property tracking site Rightmove said on Monday, standing at 229,429 pounds.

That follows the 3.3 percent monthly contraction in December.

On a yearly basis, house prices climbed 2.4 percent after rising 1.4 percent in the previous month.

The total number of new property listings surged 22 percent on year.
