PetMed Express Q3 Profit Beats Estimates

PetMed Express Inc. (PETS) posted third-quarter net income of $4.6 million, or $0.23 per share, compared to $3.9 million, or $0.19 per share in the comparable quarter last year. On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit of $0.18 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales for the latest third quarter quarter were $49.61 million, compared with $50.52 million in the year-ago quarter, while five analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $49.97 million for the quarter.

Federal Aviation Administration said several pilots complained about pointing of strong green laser beams at planes flying over Long Island.
