Turkey Tourist Arrival Growth Highest In 15 Months

Tourists arrivals in Turkey rose at the fastest pace in fifteen months during December, data released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism showed on Wednesday.

Total number of tourists arriving to the country surged by 12.43 percent year-on-year in December faster than 2.21 percent in November. The latest figure is the highest since September 2011. The number of visitors reached 1.34 million compared to 1.63 million in November.

In the year 2012, Turkey received 31.78 million visitors, which was 1.04 percent higher than 2011's total. In 2011, arrivals jumped 9.86 percent.
