Eli Lilly & Co. (LLY) reported fourth quarter adjusted EPS of $0.85 Tuesday morning, down from $0.87 in the previous year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.78. Full year 2013 adjusted EPS is expected to be between $3.82 and $3.97, up from prior expectations of $3.75 to $3.90. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $3.84.
Eli Lilly traded to the upside throughout the first half of the morning Tuesday and ended the session higher by 1.68 at $54.32. The stock rose above a 2 1/2 week range and set a new high for the year.
