Estonia's industrial production expanded 6.7 percent year-on-year in December underpinned by demand from foreign market, Statistics Estonia reported Thursday.
Within overall production, energy output surged 17.3 percent, and manufacturing output gained 5.6 percent. Partially offsetting these increases, mining output plunged 16.9 percent.
Month-on-month, industrial production was down by seasonally adjusted 0.9 percent. The decline was driven by a 11.2 percent fall in mining and a 2.1 percent drop in manufacturing.
The agency said production of industrial enterprises in 2012 remained on the level of the previous year. Exports during the year increased, while demand on the domestic market was lower. Production eased marginally by 0.4 percent in 2012.
