Denmark's industrial production declined markedly in December, after recording modest growths in the previous two months, data released by Statistics Denmark showed Thursday.
Industrial production dropped a seasonally adjusted 3.8 percent on a monthly basis in December, reversing the modest growth seen in November.
Production of non-durable consumer goods dropped 5 percent sequentially, while output of durable consumer goods fell by 3.7 percent. There was a 2.9 percent decrease in intermediate goods production and a 3.2 percent fall in the output of capital goods, data showed.
During the three months ended December, production dropped a seasonally adjusted 3 percent compared to the third quarter.
The agency said new orders received by Danish industrial firms plunged 14.4 percent month-on-month in December. In the October-December period, new business dropped 10.9 percent from the preceding three-month period.
