Republic Services Q4 Profit Declines; Provides FY13 Outlook - Quick Facts

Republic Services, Inc. (RSG) reported fourth-quarter net income attributable to the company of $127.0 million, or $0.35 per share, compared to $191.0 million, or $0.51 per share in the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net income for the fourth quarter was $133.4 million, or $0.37 per share, compared to $195.3 million, or $0.53 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Revenue for the latest fourth quarter rose to $2.028 billion from $2.025 billion a year ago.

On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.43 per share on revenue of $2.00 billion for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company expects full year 2013 adjusted earnings to be in the range of $1.86 to $1.91 per share and an increase in revenue of 2.0 to 2.5 percent.

Analysts currently expect the company to earn $1.93 per share and $8.24 billion for the full year 2013.

Republic also announced that its Board of Directors declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.235 per share for stockholders of record on April 1, 2013. The dividend will be paid on April 15, 2013.
