Passengers on a Delta Air Lines leaving Savannah, Georgia's Hilton Head Airport on Tuesday got the scare of their lives when their airplane skidded off the runway and onto the lawn area.

Local media reports no injuries among the 125 passengers, pilots or crew in relation to the accident which occurred while the plane was taxiing across the runway. Delta issued an apology:

"Delta apologizes for the inconvenience this has caused," said a statement obtained by the Savannah Morning News.

The front wheel of the plane made contact with the grass as it turned on to the taxiway, causing the whole plane to become lodged in the knoll. No delays were caused by the errant craft and airport workers managed to dislodge it by Tuesday night.
