Alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group L.P. (CG) Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income attributable to the company of $12.0 million. Earnings per common unit was $0.25. The company went public in May 2012.
Economic net income was $182 million for the quarter. Carlyle generated $0.47 in economic net income per adjusted unit.
On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.69 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenues declined to $755.3 million from $831.8 million. Analysts expected revenues of $596.35 million for the quarter.
Total expenses climbed to $660.2 million from $422.2 million, mainly due to higher compensation and benefits.
The Board of Directors declared a quarterly distribution of $0.85 per common unit to holders of record at the close of business on March 4, payable on March 13.
