Paula Broadwell, who appeared on the national scene after her affair with Gen. David Petraeus was uncovered last year, has been denied a promotion in the Army Reserves. Military officials are conducting an investigation to discover whether she may have been storing classified information at her home without permission, according to a report from CNN.

Last August, Broadwell, a major in the Army reserves, was approved for a promotion to lieutenant colonel. But, according to the Department of Defense, a decision was made earlier this month to revoke the promotion.

Under Army regulations "if new information comes to light" within six months of a promotion date, the promotion may be revoked. Her security clearance, which was suspended last year, also has not been reinstated.

Investigators have said they believe materials found in her home were gathered while she was researching a biography on Petraeus, the disgraced former CIA director.
