Astec Industries, Inc. (ASTE) Tuesday reported fourth-quarter profit attributable to controlling interest of $10.74 million or $0.47 per share, up from $7.96 million or $0.35 per share in the same period last year.
Net income from continuing operations dropped to $5.40 million or $0.23 per share from $8.35 million or $0.36 per share last year.
Net income from discontinued operations totaled $3.0 million, compared to a loss of $0.35 million last year. Fourth-quarter earnings also included a gain amopunting to $3.38 million, relating to disposal of discontinued operations.
On average, 10 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.38 pe share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues declined to $227.64 million from $253.29 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $247.70 million.
